RE-REGISTRATIONS  -  RE-ENROLLMENTS

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION CLASS 2011   YEAR 2

From August 16 - 30

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Original Certificate of the Sacrament of Baptism
2. Parish envelope with number as a proof of Parish registration OR
3. A proof of residence within the Parish Boundaries of All Souls: (Utility Bill or a telephone bill)

It is necessary that the parents enrolling their child in the All Souls Religious Education Program, be registered parishioners and worshipping regularly at All Souls Church, South San Francisco.

Please contact the office of the Religious Education at 650-873-5356 or visit the office  during the above mentioned time for more information regarding Tuition and sacramental fees.

During this second year in preparation to receive the First Holy Eucharist, the Children enrolled into this program, will also be prepared to celebrate the Sacrament of the First reconciliaiton or First Confession.  They will celebrate this sacrament of Reconciliation before receiving their First eucharist.

At the "Re-Registration" process for Enrollment into the First Holy Communion Class of 2011 (Year 2), the parents of the candidates for the Sacrament of the First Holy Eucharist, will receive a 'Re-Enrollment' packet with

1. the Schedule of Classes and the date of Returning for the new accademic year,
2. the "Back to School Night": Parents and Students' Meeting in the Parish Hall  on Monday, August 30th at 6pm
3. the regular classes for the new accademic year will begin on:    
4.      For those Registered for Saturdays: September 11, 2010 at 9am
5.      For those Registered for Mondays: September 13, 2010 at 4pm.
6. the duration of Regular classes will be an hour and half.
7. Regular classes  (weather permitting) begin with a Prayer assembly on the upper level of the grounds at their above mentioned times.
8. Religious Education Program Hand Book and
9. A Sponsor Form.

It is not absolutely necessary that these children preparing to receive their First Holy Eucharist have Sponsors.  However, some traditions have had the practice of adopting Sponsors for their children receiving this Sacrament.  We, at All Souls Religious Education Program will gladly honor such a request. Should a parent opt for this practice, then, the following expectations of the Religous Education office must be fulfiled:

The Sponsor Form should be filled in completely. It is expected that the parents Re-registering their child  into this program will fill in the top portion of the Form and hand it over to their Sponsor. 

The Sponsor needs to sign it in the presence of his or her own Pastor (commonly understood as the Pastor of the local Catholic Church where the Sponsor is registered and worships regularly).

The Pastor of the Sponsor will verify the suitability of the Sponsor, use the Parish Seal, sign the form and return it to the Sponsor, who in turn is expected to return it to the parents of the child preparing to receive the First Holy Eucharist.

The Sponsor Form is due to be turned in to the Religious Education Office on the First Day of the First Holy Communion Class of the new accademic year.  Failing to turn in the completed  sponsor Form  on the First Day of Class will be understood that the parents have chosen not to have sponsors for their child and therefore, they will not be allowed to have a sponsor.

The Conference for these Sponsors  (who turn in their completed form) and the candidates for the First Holy Eucharist is scheduled in our Parish to be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 7pm in the Parish Hall.
